Dear Frontier Families,

We have had an exciting week already embarking on new adventures together! I have had the awesome opportunity to meet the AMAZING Frontier students who currently attend John Ross, Washington Irving and West Field. I am so excited as I look ahead to August when I will be able to see their smiling faces every day!

As I met with the students, I showed them pictures of our new school, pictures of my family and told them about myself. I have been in education for 17 years. I have taught 1st and third grades in Yukon and at Cross Tim-bers Elementary in Edmond. I have been an assistant principal at Will Rogers and Centennial as well. Most recently, I have been the principal at West Field for the past five years. My wonderful husband Mark and I have been married for 19 years. We have three precious children we dearly love: Camer-on (13), McKenzie (13) and Kash (18 months). We enjoy hiking, skiing, being outdoors and just spending time together as a family. I can’t wait to meet each of your families as well.

During my meetings this week with the students, I also announced our mascot! We will be the FRONTIER FALCONS! Students have the opportunity right now to submit a name for our falcon. I will collect all names submitted and all Frontier students will vote this spring on the name for our falcon as well as our school colors. I will then visit the students again sometime in May to announce our school colors and the falcon’s name.

Our website, facebook page, and blog are up and running. Please visit them frequently. We will update them as often as possible with current pictures and news about Frontier.

Thank you for sharing your children with me! I look forward to meeting each of you in the near future as well.

Sincerely,
Cara Jernigan
